Resveratrol Studies and Research

  • Resveratrol and Cancer
Recent studies indicate that resveratrol has promising therapeutic activity in several cancers, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, and neuroblastoma.
  • Resveratral and Prostate Cancer
Male mice were given the equivalent of a bottle of red wine of resveratrol. The results were that the mice were significantly less likely to develop prostate cancer. When fed resvertrol, mice who still got cancer, developed less serious tumors.

  • Researchers at Northumbria University gave 24 healthy adults either placebo, 500mg of resveratrol, or 1000mg of resveratrol. Cognitive tests were given prior to the administration of either the placebo or resveratrol. The subjects given the resveratrol showed a significant increase in blood flow to the brain and performed better on the cognitive related tests.
  • Resverotrol and Breast Cancer
Female mice given resveratrol had a significantly reduced risk of developing breast cancer.
  • Resverotral and Alzheimer's
Found to be chemoprotective and cardioprotective, resveratrol has been known to inhibit cell death to a great degree during the course of Alzheimer's disease. Resveratrol maintains a cell's viability and exerts an anti-oxidative action by enhanving the intracellular free-radical scavenger glutathione.
  • Anti-aging and longetivity
Resveratrol activates a cell's survival defense enzyme, which prolongs the time cells have to broken DNA. Doing so helps the subject live longer and look younger.
